I first heard about blogging from my friend a long time ago. Blogging was used as something personal, more like a diary rather than an informative nature. And, with many success stories from blogs that influenced people, many companies have turned to blogs as a tool that could drive more sales and power. As a journalism graduate and a Public Relations pro, this caused me to start my pr agency after I built Realty Tech. As my company grew, more responsibility has been placed on my shoulders, but with the right team contributing to our success, we have grown bigger.
How Did We Do It?
There are a lot of ways to drive traffic to your blog, such as direct traffic, organic traffic, paid traffic, email traffic, and social traffic. Now the trickiest part is – How to start?
Given the type of business or the kind of blog, you want to start; here are the things that you need to keep in mind:
Knowing your audience’s needs, concerns, issues, pain points, and interests will be your guide to content creation. Participating actively in social media groups, like Facebook, Reddit, and Instagram, to name a few, can give you better insight and awareness of how you are doing as a business. In addition to this, engaging and interacting in relevant online forums like quora, Nextdoor, Alignable, is one of the best tools for refining your blog’s messaging if you are still new to blogging.
Keyword Research ( This is not a walk in the park ) Now that you have your audiences’ pain points, questions and ideas. You’re now getting half of the equation. Here’s what you need to do next. Brainstorm the keywords that you are planning on using and have them on a keyword tool like semrush or ahrefs. If you are building your blog from the ground, the first thing that you have to consider is keyword difficulty. Making sure that you are putting it just in the right spot when you can still be getting high volume while maximizing the keywords’ difficulty.
TIP Tips: In addition to this, if you're new to blogging, it's a good idea to target organic traffic. These visitors are actively looking for the information that your content provides, and, as a result, they are more likely to engage with that content. And inadvertently, it will make it easier for your SEO performance.

Keep in mind that this is a two-way relationship. So when you are promoting irrelevant content to them, this will result in a waste of your time, effort, and money.
Create highly valuable content. Now that you have planned the content. How else could we not have it? Remember that we could sometimes have those writer’s block and tend to write overarching topics. One thing that could help is structuring the content. As it is not just going to help you target the keywords but allows you to have an easy-to-scan through content.
Considering you have now well written content don’t forget to optimize your blogs with h1 and h2, meta titles, description and pictures or videos. Now, at last, the moment you must have been waiting for, to hit publish and promote your content.
In order to run a successful blog, you need time, energy and resources. But I think the benefits far outweigh the costs. And most importantly you need to have passion to go on in the blogging industry. – Richard Uzelac
